"The trust fund which had supported my mother for 45 years was depleted,
and we were uncertain just how we could continue to provide Christian Science nursing care for my mother while the healing
work continued. We prayed for the next right step of care. We also were honest with Ricardo House, letting them
know of our need to seek another solution, since we did not see how we could continue. They too began to pray and listen
for ideas, sharing them with us. We worked together for a solution.
The turning point in my thought was when I stopped outlining exactly how God should work it out. I simply felt
in my heart, "Not my will, but Thine be done." I began checking other options, and opened my thought to new
ideas. The most amazing solutions began to appear.
1.
A job in a related field to nursing opened up for me, enabling me to support the Christian Science nursing activity.
It met my needs, and theirs as well.
2. A donor heard
about the financial challenge and offered to assist us with part of the nursing fee.
3. A benevolence fund was discovered, which enabled the donor to contribute to the fund, and get a
tax deduction. The benevolent fund was distributed to us independent of the donor's contributions, fulfilling the
legal tax requirements.
4. My siblings also were listening
for ideas, and each was able to increase their contribution.
5.
Ricardo House was able to make contributions of supplies, normally billed to the patient.
We are most grateful to God for His abundant goodness, manifested in the supply necessary
to have continued Christian Science nursing for our mother. We are grateful to Ricardo House for their inspired listening
for solutions, as we worked together. The love and caring manifested for both the patient and the family was heartwarming."
